How to record in Ball Tracking mode?

Videos recorded in Ball Tracking mode delivers high quality analytics as we control the camera preferences and parameters.

Requirements:

  1. 2 pairs of 3 stumps. Place 3 stumps at batters and bowlers end at the right distance.
  2. Clean or uniform background without motion
  3. Tripod to hold the camera at 1.8m height, which gives an umpire's view point. The height of the tripod should be at least 1.5m for better results.
  4. Very good internet access.

Steps to record in Ball Tracking mode:

Step 1: Set up:
  1. Place the tripod 4 to 6 metres behind the bowler's stumps.
  2. Secure the camera on the tripod at 1.8m height.
  3. On the Ludimos app, click the Camera icon at the centre of the bottom menu to open the upload set up page.
  4. In the next screen, pick the account and group you want to upload the video to.
  5. Optional: Add relevant tags to search and find this video later in the app.
  6. Optional: If you are working with juniors, select the pitch length accordingly. Make sure that you have the stumps placed at the correct distance.
Step 2: Calibrate the scene
  1. You should see 2 white boxes and you want stumps within these boxes for successful calibration.
  2. Zoom in the screen or move the tripod forward or backward to place the stumps in the boxes.
  3. If needed, tilt the phone to cover a lot of ground and avoid unwanted background or roof.
  4. Click calibrate and wait for 5 to 7 seconds for the calibration to succeed.
  5. Upon success, you will see the boxes turning green and the base of the stumps connected by a purple bar.
  6. If the calibration isn’t right, adjust the tripod or camera and try again.
  7. If calibration fails 2 or 3 times, then switch to Camera mode and follow the instructions in the next section: How to record in Camera mode.
