This documentation provides the knowledge to successfully use the Ludimos web and mobile apps.
How to create a Ludimos account?

The steps below will guide you to create your Ludimos player account,

1. Go to https://app.ludimos.com/create-account

2. Select "Create account"

3. Add your details and password

4. Click "Sign up"

You can also download Ludimos app on your mobile and create your account directly. Click the link below to download the apps,

How do I get an invitation to join my club or team on Ludimos?

In order to join your club or team please follow the steps below.

  1. Reach out to your coach, share your personal email and ask him to send you an invitation to set up your Ludimos account. 
  2. Click the Accept Invitation button in the email to open the sign up page.
  3. In the signup page, add your account password, input your first and last names and check whether the email address is correct. 
  4. Click Register or Sign Up to complete your set up. 
  5. Optionally, verify your email address by clicking the verify email button in the confirmation email.

How to join your club/academy/school account on Ludimos?

To join any coaching account on Ludimos you need an invitation from the Admin of the coaching account. You can be invited using the following ways,

Email Invite

You will receive an email with an invitation link to join a coaching account. In this case,

  1. You simply click the link
  2. Input your email and password. NOTE: If you already have a valid Ludimos account, you can simply use the same login credentials here.
  3. Create your Ludimos account and automatically be a part of the coaching account
  4. After logging in, click the Menu icon in the top left corner and verify that the coaching account is visible under the accounts section.

PS: Make sure that you check the spam folder, since there is a good chance that the invite email might end up there.

Invite Link

Another way to join a coaching account is to use the group invite link. Once again, only an Admin can create this group invite link and they will share this link with you to set up your account. Once you click the open the link, you can follow the same steps as above to complete the process.

Set up your Ludimos profile

Here are the steps to set up your Ludimos profile

  1. At first login, you will be asked to set up your player or coach profile. 
  2. Enter your details, such as your batting type, bowling type, unit preferences, etc. 
  3. You can also set your preferred unit of measure KMPH or MPH under your profile.
  4. Click Save to update your profile.
How to change my units of measurements in Ludimos?
  1. Select the profile icon at the bottom left corner on the web app
  2. Click on the "Edit" tab
  3. Amend the "show speed in" and "show distance in" details to required units of measurement
  4. Save changes
How to reset your password?
  1. Select the profile icon at the bottom left corner on the web app
  2. Select "Reset password" at the bottom right of the general tab
  3. Complete New password details and click Save to confirm your new password

Input your email and click "Send". If your email is already registered with us, we will send you an email with instructions to reset your password.

What is the difference between Ludimos Personal & a coaching account?

Ludimos Personal

As the name implies, Ludimos Personal account is well suited for individuals who are very keen to document their cricketing journey online. The videos added to Ludimos Personal is accessible only for you and you cannot share this with a coach for review and analysis. You will have access to full suite of Ludimos AI analytics and tools to review your own videos.

Ludimos 360° Account

Ludimos 360° account provides you with all the tools required to coach players using our platform. You will have access to Digital Groups, Drills, Schedules, Session Plans, Video Analysis, Documents, Assignments, Ludimos AI Analytics and Reports. You can set up your coaching account and invite players to various groups like you do at your current organisation.

How to upgrade to Ludimos premium?

You can try Ludimos for FREE for the first 7 days after sign up.

To continue using Ludimos beyond that you need a valid subscription.

How to record in Ball Tracking mode?

Videos recorded in Ball Tracking mode delivers high quality analytics as we control the camera preferences and parameters. 

Requirements: 

  1. 2 pairs of 3 stumps. Place 3 stumps at batters and bowlers end at the right distance.
  2. Clean or uniform background without motion
  3. Tripod to hold the camera at 1.8m height, which gives an umpire's view point. The height of the tripod should be at least 1.5m for better results.
  4. Very good internet access. 

Steps to record in Ball Tracking mode: 

Step 1: Set up: 
  1. Place the tripod 4 to 6 metres behind the bowler's stumps. 
  2. Secure the camera on the tripod at 1.8m height.
  3. On the Ludimos app, click the Camera icon at the centre of the bottom menu to open the upload set up page. 
  4. In the next screen, pick the account and group you want to upload the video to. 
  5. Optional: Add relevant tags to search and find this video later in the app. 
  6. Optional: If you are working with juniors, select the pitch length accordingly. Make sure that you have the stumps placed at the correct distance.
Step 2: Calibrate the scene
  1. You should see 2 white boxes and you want stumps within these boxes for successful calibration. 
  2. Zoom in the screen or move the tripod forward or backward to place the stumps in the boxes. 
  3. If needed, tilt the phone to cover a lot of ground and avoid unwanted background or roof. 
  4. Click calibrate and wait for 5 to 7 seconds for the calibration to succeed. 
  5. Upon success, you will see the boxes turning green and the base of the stumps connected by a purple bar. 
  6. If the calibration isn’t right, adjust the tripod or camera and try again. 
  7. If calibration fails 2 or 3 times, then switch to Camera mode and follow the instructions in the next section: How to record in Camera mode.
Step 3: Video recording

You have 2 options to record videos based on your coaching needs. You can either record the video in streaming mode or normal mode. More info on streaming & normal modes can be found here.

  1. You will see a purple record button enabled upon successful calibration. 
  2. Click the button to start recording. 
  3. After desired time, stop the video recording by clicking the button again. 
  4. After recording is stopped, the video will be automatically uploaded to the configured group. 
  5. You can monitor video upload progress from the video uploads panel which can be accessed from the app’s home page.
Step 4: Video upload management
  1. In the video management page you will see all your current uploads including the successful and failed uploads. 
  2. You can retry the failed upload. 
  3. If uploads fail after 3 retries, please use the Download icon to move the video to your Gallery from where you can import into Ludimos app by following the steps under the section: How to import videos from your phones gallery
How to record in Batting mode

Videos recorded in Batting mode delivers high quality analytics as we control the camera preferences and parameters. 

Requirements: 

  1. 1 set of 3 stumps. Place 3 stumps at batter end.
  2. Clean or uniform background without motion
  3. Tripod to hold the camera at 1.8m height, which gives an umpire's view point. The height of the tripod should be at least 1.5m for better results.
  4. You can zoom in for closer view.
  5. Very good internet access. 

Steps to record in Batting mode: 

Step 1: Set up: 
  1. Place the tripod between 1 and 2 metres behind the bowler or bowling machine or ball thrower.
  2. Secure the camera on the tripod at 1.8m height.
  3. On the Ludimos app, click the Camera icon at the centre of the bottom menu to open the upload set up page. 
  4. In the next screen, pick the account and group you want to upload the video to. 
  5. Optional: Add relevant tags to search and find this video later in the app. 
  6. Optional: If you are working with juniors, select the pitch length accordingly. Make sure that you have the stumps placed at the correct distance.
Step 2: Calibrate the scene

How to record in Freeform AI mode

Use the Freeform AI mode to capture any type of videos. For example, players working on drills, Strength & Conditioning, Fitness, Running exercise to time their runs, etc. All these videos will be processed for biomechanics analysis.

How to record in Freeform AI mode

A tripod is recommended while using Freeform AI mode for better results.

Step 1: Video recording
  1. Click Freeform AI mode from the bottom menu. 
  2. You will see a purple record button.
  3. Click the button to start recording. 
  4. After desired time, stop the video recording by clicking the button again. 
  5. After recording is stopped, the video will be automatically uploaded to the configured group. 
  6. You can monitor video upload progress from the video uploads panel which can be accessed from the app’s home page. 
Step 2: Video upload management
  1. In the video management page you will see all your current uploads including the successful and failed uploads.

Video Recording Modes in Ludimos

There are three different video recording modes in Ludimos apps. They are,

  1. Ball Tracking Mode: Record videos in Ball Tracking mode if you want to get analytics for both bating and bowling. You need to calibrate the scene before recording. Check How to record in Ball Tracking mode for set by step instructions.
  2. Batting Mode: Record videos in Batting mode if you want only batting analytics. For example, capturing a throw down session or to have a zoom in view of batter for better analysis. Check How to record in Batting mode for set by step instructions.
  3. Freeform AI Mode: Record videos in this mode if you want only the player bio-mechanics or skeletal overlay. This mode is best suited for bowler run up analysis, motion analysis like Wicket Keeping, Fielding, Throwing and S&C. Check How to record in Batting mode for set by step instructions.
  4. Video Import: In addition to recording, you can also import existing videos from your device gallery to Ludimos. By default these videos will be analysed under Freeform AI mode and if the requirements of Ball Tracking of Batting mode is met, then it is possible that the imported videos will be processed in respective modes.
Import videos from your device to Ludimos

If you’ve recorded a video outside of Ludimos, you can easily import it into the app.

How to import videos into Ludimos

  1. Click the + button from the app’s home page on bottom right. 
  2. Select videos from the pop up menu. 
  3. Browse your phone's gallery and pick one or more videos that you want to import. 
  4. On the next page, select the account and group you want to upload these videos to. 
  5. Optional: Add relevant tags to search and find this video later in the app. 
  6. Optional: If you are working with juniors, select the pitch length accordingly. Make sure that you have the stumps placed at the correct distance. 
  7. Click upload to start the upload process. 

Video upload management

  1. In the video management page you will see all your current uploads including the successful and failed uploads. 
  2. You can retry the failed upload. 
  3. If uploads fail after 3 retries, please use the Download icon to move the video to your Gallery from where you can import into Ludimos app by following the steps under the section: How to import videos from your phones gallery
What are the different analytics provided by Ludimos

For videos recorded in ball tracking mode and batting you will be able to get the following analytics, 

For bowling, 

  1. Ball speed 
  2. Ball line
  3. Ball length
  4. Ball deviation of the ground
  5. Pitchmap
  6. Beehive map

For batting, 

  1. Batter handedness: Right or Left
  2. Batter footwork: Front foot, back foot, down the track or no footwork. 
  3. Shot type: The shot the batter intended to play for the given ball
  4. Shot connection: Middled, Missed or Edged. 
  5. Wagon wheel of the entire session for left and right handers individually.

How to view Ludimos analytics

When playing any video recorded in ball tracking mode, click the Analytics button on the Mobile app or view the analytics from the right side of the screen on the web app. 

You will see 4 tabs with Pitchmap, Beehive, Batting and List view showcasing available analytics from the video. 

You can switch to the tabs and interact with all analytics on the visuals. 

Viewing analytics of a particular player(s)

After players are tagged, you can select either a batter or a bowler to see their individual analytics. Or you can also choose a batter and a bowler to see how they played against each other.

Video Recording Modes in Ludimos

There are three different video recording modes in Ludimos apps. They are,

  1. Ball Tracking Mode: Record videos in Ball Tracking mode if you want to get analytics for both bating and bowling. You need to calibrate the scene before recording. Check How to record in Ball Tracking mode for set by step instructions.
  2. Batting Mode: Record videos in Batting mode if you want only batting analytics. For example, capturing a throw down session or to have a zoom in view of batter for better analysis. Check How to record in Batting mode for set by step instructions.

  4. Video Import: In addition to recording, you can also import existing videos from your device gallery to Ludimos. Advanced filters on Analytics

On the web you have detailed filters to further filter only the actions that meet your criteria. For example, show me only the short balls bowled by player A or pull shots played by player B. This allows you to save more time and analyse a player in detail. 

You will see more filters where you can filter by Ball Speed, Shot played, Ball Length, Ball Line, Hitting Stumps, etc. 

How can I filter videos?

Follow the below steps to filter videos,

  1. Go to the Ludimos.com website
  2. Log in to your account
  3. Select the "Video analytics" icon in the left pane on the web page
  4. Select the filter latest icon towards the right of the videos pane and filter videos based on drop down selection
How to delete a video from a group?

You will be able to delete a video only if you are the owner of a video or you have an admin role.

Follow the below steps to delete a video from a group

  1. Select the Video analysis icon in the left pane of the web page
  2. Select the video you wish to delete
  3. Click on the 'three-dot' icon at the top right of the video to delete the video from the group and account.

Any notes attached to a deleted video will be lost as well

LUDIMOS MOBILE APP

Follow the below steps to delete a video from a group

  1. Go to 'Videos' tab
  2. Click on the 'three-dot' icon at the top right of the video to delete the video from the group and account.

How can I adjust my video playback speed?

Follow the below steps if you wish to watch the video at a slower/faster pace

LUDIMOS WEB APP

  1. Select the Video analysis icon in the left pane of the web page
  2. Select the video you wish to view
  3. Click on the "1X" button in the video play-bar to adjust the playback speed
  4. Select the desired option from the list provided

The video will be played at your chosen playback speed.

LUDIMOS MOBILE APP 

  1. Go to the 'Videos' tab
  2. Select the video you wish to view
  3. Click on the "1X" button in the video play-bar
  4. Select the desired option by tapping on the speed button

The video will be played at your chosen playback speed.

How to play my video frame by frame?

Follow the below steps if you wish to watch the video frame by frame.

LUDIMOS WEB APP 

  1. Select the Video analysis icon in the left pane of the web page
  2. Select the video you wish to view
  3. Tap on the '<' or '>' to go through the video frame by frame

LUDIMOS MOBILE APP 

  1. Go to the 'Videos' tab
  2. Select the video you wish to view
  3. Tap on the '<' or '>' to go through the video frame by frame

Video feed

Videos uploaded into your account will be displayed in a grid view in Ludimos. By default, videos are sorted by date (newest to oldest). The owner of the video & the group the video belongs to are displayed as tags below the video.

Video Metadata

When a video is processed by Ludimos, metadata is attached to provide users with an overview of the video's upload and viewing status.

'i' icon color codes

  • Green - Video was recorded at 60 FPS
  • Orange - Video was recorded at 30 FPS
  • Red - Video was recorded at less than 30 FPS

Hovering your cursor over the 'i' icon displays the processing status of the three analysis performed by our algorithm (Stumpline, Ball tracking & Kinogram).

Video actions

Ludimos AI automatically detects actions in any video uploaded to our platform. The number of actions detected in the video is displayed at the bottom left of the video cover.

Video feedback

If a video has feedback attached, the number of feedback shares will be displayed as a count in the bottom left of the video cover.

Users tagged to a video

When a user is tagged in a video, their initials will appear on the video's cover.

Video views

An 'eye' icon is added to the video cover as soon as the video is viewed at least once by the user.

TIPS  

  1. Always use a tripod to ensure recording stability
  2. Record videos at 60FPS & 1080p for accurate ball tracking
  3. We recommend a video recording between 10 and 20 mins to ensure faster processing
  4. Tag users with videos to build player profile.
How to analyse a video in Ludimos?

Once a video is uploaded to our platform, our AI algorithm automatically detects actions (batting/bowling action) if any in a video. These detected actions are marked as 'purple blocks' in the video playback bar. When playing a video, the dead time between two actions will be automatically skipped.

LUDIMOS WEB APP 

Follow the below steps to analyse a video and to view the analytics.  

  1. Select the Video analysis icon in the left pane on the web page
  2. Select the video you wish to analyse. The selected video will be opened in a new tab.
  3. Click the 'stumpline' icon to view the stumpline.
  4. Click the 'ball tracking' icon to view the trajectory
  5. Turn on the pose by clicking on the 'skeleton' icon.
  6. Bowler analytics will be displayed on the left side of the video pane.
  7. Batter analytics will be displayed on the right side of the video pane.
Adjust video playback speeds (Slo-mo)
  1. Play the video you want to analyse
  2. Click on the "1X" button in the video timeline to adjust the playback speed
  3. Select the desired speed from the list provided
  4. Now the video will be played at your chosen playback speed.

How to tag a player to a video?

Every ball tracked using Ludimos AI will have either a batter or a bowler or both a batter and a bowler. It is crucial to tag respective players to these actions so that we can build their individual profiles to identify insights and track progress. 

Videos with actions

  1. Play the video you wish to tag yourself or tag other players.
  2. Click the "Tag Players" button. You will find this button as an overlay on the video in the Mobile app or as a button on the Actions pane on the Web app.  
  3. You will see a list of thumbnails representing each ball tracked or shot played
  4. Select all the thumbnails of the player you wish to tag and click next.
  5. Select whether you want to tag the player as a batter or bowler.
  6. Select a player from the list or search the player name if you don’t see them immediately.
  7. Click Save to confirm player tagging.
  8. Repeat the steps for all the actions in a video.
  9. Hit the 'Close' button on the top right to exit the tagging interface.

You can view the players tagged to a video by clicking on the 'Tagged Players' icon located on the top left section of the video card from the video feed.

Videos without actions  

  1. Play the video you wish to tag yourself or tag other players.
  2. Click the "Tag Players" button. You will find this button as an overlay on the video in the Mobile app or as a button on the Actions pane on the Web app.  
  3. Search the player name and click on 'Tag'. Your tags are now automatically saved.
  4. Hit the 'Close' button on the top right to exit the tagging interface.

You can view the players tagged to a video by clicking on the 'Tagged Players' icon located on the top left section of the video card from the video feed.

Play video frame by frame
  1. Play the video you want to analyse
  2. Tap on the '<' or '>' to go through the video frame by frame
  3. On the Mobile app, press and swipe the vertical bars to scrub the video slowly forwards and backwards. 
  4. Now the video will be moved one frame at a time.
Adding a coaching note to a player

To add a feedback note to the player or as a player if you wish to take notes on your videos, follow the steps below.

Click the notepad with a + icon on the web or mobile app to enter feedback mode. In this mode you have 3 feedback options: a) Audio feedback b) Drawing feedback c) Text feedback. 

Add an audio note: Press the microphone button and explain your feedback to the player in your own voice. Once you stop the recording, the audio clip will be saved to the current frame of the video. 

Add a drawing: You can click on any drawing tools and start drawing lines, rectangles, circles, angles or free form drawing on the current video frame. This drawing will be saved as feedback. 

Add a text note: You can type in your text feedback in the text area of the input. You can type your text as long as you want. 

Before you can save a note you have to choose the player(s) who will be tagged to this feedback note. Keep in mind that players will be able to see the feedback that was tagged to them. 

You can always modify which players can access a particular feedback. 

NOTE: Also, you can add as many notes as you want on a given video. There are no restrictions on that.

How to create a group?

On the Web app you can create a group using the following 2 methods,

From the Home Page:

  1. Select the Home tab
  2. Click “Create a group

From the Groups Page:

  1. Select the Group menu from the left menu bar
  2. Click “Create a group”

On the group create page you will have an option to make the Group Private by clicking the Private check box.

Difference between a Public & Private Group: 

In a public group, all the videos, documents and schedules added to the group is public and accessible to everyone in the group by default. This is best suited for group training sessions where multiple players will be a part of a single video clip. This makes it easy to share and interact.

In a private group, every video, document and schedule added to the group is private by default. Upon tagging by the coaches or admins, players will get access to videos. The person adding a video or document will have access to that specific document by default. Coaches in the group have access to all the content in the group by default.

How to add existing members to a group?

Only Admins of an account can manage members of their account, in the following ways,

From the Group Members Settings:

  1. Click on the Groups icon
  2. Select the relevant group
  3. Click on the three dot menu and Select "Manage members"
  4. Select "Add existing members"
  5. Search and Select the member
  6. Click "Add" and also specific their role in the group

From the Account Members Settings:

  1. Click on the Groups icon on the top left corner of the app next to the settings icon
  2. Find the user from the list or use the Filter to search the right user
  3. Click on the user name to open a dialog to manage their groups
  4. Under "Role in Groups" section, add the group and relevant role of the user
  5. Click "Add"
How to check whether the user has accepted the invitation?
  1. Click on the Groups icon
  2. Select the relevant group
  3. Click on the three dot menu and Select "Manage members"
  4. There will be a column that shows "Accepted invite" which will indicate YES/NO
  5. If yes, then player successfully accepted their invitation. If No, they haven't set up their account yet.
How to resend an invitation?
  1. Click on the Groups icon from the left menu bar.
  2. Select the relevant group where the user is part of.
  3. Click on the three dot menu and select "Manage members".
  4. Click on "Resend Invite" next to member's name.
  5. A pop will appear stating "Invite successfully sent".
How to edit my group settings?
  1. Click on the Groups icon
  2. Select the relevant group
  3. Select "Edit group" button
  4. Edit required settings. You can change the groups privacy settings, you can configure who can upload videos to the group, change groups profile picture or upload limits to the group.
  5. Click "Save" and then click "X" to close pop up
How to delete a group?
  1. Click on the Groups icon
  2. Select the relevant group
  3. Select "Edit group" button
  4. Click "Archive group"
  5. A pop up to "Archive" will appear
  6. Confirm your decision to archive your group
